On February 26, 1977, collector Joe Sant interviewed local Nevadan business owner, Robert D. Howell (born November 22nd, 1939 in Las Vegas, Nevada) in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. This interview covers Las Vegas in the old days, from Mr. Howell’s personal experience of being born and raised in Nevada. During this interview, Mr. Howell also discusses the early above ground atomic tests, local environmental and social changes, the economic landscape, the Mormon Fort, religious beliefs, and local recreation. The interview concludes with discussion on air pollution.
Oral history interview with Andre "Brother Dre" King conducted by Claytee D. White on July 20, 2018 for the Remembering 1 October Oral History Project. In this interview, King recalls learning judo and wrestling at an early age. After spending ten years in prison for a burglary offense, he served an additional eleven years in facilities across the state. After twenty-one years in the system, King is now a nondenominational spiritual being and once he learned about the Healing Garden for 1 October victims, he went there daily, during and immediately after the construction. King has helped many survivors and has healed himself as well, through giving love, hugs, and spiritual inspiration.
Charles Duncan "C. D." Baker (1901-1972) was instrumental for the expansion and development of Las Vegas, Nevada, especially during his time as mayor of the city from 1951 to 1959. He was born on February 26, 1901 in Terra Haute, Indiana. He received a Bachelor's of Science in civil engineering from the Rose Polytechnic Institution and went to work for the Indiana Highway Department. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to teach math and coach basketball in 1922.
The Swell Hogan sub-series (1925-1929) contains black-and-white photographic prints and negatives of direction and production stills for the film Swell Hogan (1926). The direction stills portray sets, principal and supporting cast members, and production members, while the production stills depict scenes from the film from beginning to end. Also included are correspondence, production costs, and a fire insurance policy pertaining to the film.

On February 24, 1975, Kathleen Kasmir interviewed Marion Brooks (born 1913 in Santa Ana, California) about his life in Southern Nevada and his work as a mining engineer. Brooks first talks about his background before talking extensively about his early work in mining. Brooks also mentions some of the professional mining societies of which he was a part, and the two then move on to discuss gambling, recreational activities, and the atomic testing. Other topics covered during the interview include the price of groceries and food, the El Rancho Vegas, social changes, population growth, and environmental changes. The end of the interview then shifts back to Brooks’ work in mining at Blue Diamond and then a discussion on the possible locations of three lost mines.
