Description

Patrons sitting at the bar in Joe Andre's restaurant in Beatty, Nevada. The restaurant was located in the building adjoining the Exchange Club (which Andre also owned). The fifth person at the bar, from left, is Joe Andre, and sixth from left, is Dorothy Andre. "Behind bar, Clell Jackson "Cackles" because of his funny laugh, behind Joe Andre with visor was Bob Rush, dealer. Tiny Bird, dealer, Flamingo exec., Jak and Petty Pruitt next to Andre's Exchange Club."

Black and white photo of the exterior of Joe Andre's Store, located diagonally opposite of the Exchange Club. A car is parked out front and a man is standing on the porch. Signs on the outside read: "Fountain, Drugs, Air Conditioning," "Andre's Wearing Apparel," and "Ice Cream fountain service."

Patron provided the following comment: This was located in the 200 block of West Montgomery behind where the ambulance garage is now. Building originally was the Miner's Union Hall in Rhyolite. It was moved to Beatty in 1914.
