Materials depict the buildings and staff of the Sands Hotel from approximately 1952 to 1969. The photographs primarily depict staff at the Sands, the hotel's marquee advertising various performers, the exteriors of the Sands Hotel's buildings, aerial views of the Sands, construction of the Sands Hotel's tower, the Aqueduct building, and workers at the hotel.

This set includes: preliminary sketches, redlining, site plans, floor plans, building sections, exterior elevations, aerial photos and exterior perspectives.

The early Las Vegas, Nevada historical materials series dates from 1905 to 1980 and is comprised of visual materials that reflect the development of early Las Vegas, aerial photographs of Las Vegas in 1976, photographs of early built structures, newspaper clippings, and books.
