Oral history interview with Peter Bernhard conducted by Claytee D. White on August 05, 2013 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Bernhard discusses his personal history growing up in the Hyde Park neighborhood in Las Vegas, Nevada. He describes recreational activities in downtown Las Vegas, attending Western High School and raising money to construct their football stadium in th 1960s. Bernhard then talks about the gaming industry in Las Vegas and explains how one is put in the “Black Book” of persons banned from casinos. Lastly, he recalls his experiences in casino business in the 1980s, and his role as a board member for the Nevada Gaming Commission.

Oral history interview with J. Harold Tilton conducted by David M. Hollic on February 21, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Tilton discusses his personal history and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1925. He then describes the development of Las Vegas and recalls the expansion of the city in both the north and west. Lastly, Tilton discusses the construction of homes in undeveloped desert land, as well as environmental and social changes in Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Charles M. Kellog conducted by unidentified interviewer on October 03, 1973 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Kellog discusses how he first entered into the gambling business and his occupational history in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also describes the different places that he and his wife had lived and his intentions to begin the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ first inter-collegiate soccer team.

Oral history interview with Allen Sharpe conducted by Patricia Holland on May 10, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Sharpe discusses arriving in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1929 and moving into one of the first homes in North Las Vegas. He then talks about the expansion of West Las Vegas and the increase of casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. Lastly, Sharpe discusses his job as a painter and recalls experiences in the painting business.

Oral history interview with Frank Cope conducted by Marianne Johnson on March 15, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Cope describes his occupation as distribution superintendent at the Las Vegas Valley Water District and meeting his wife who also worked for the water district as a secretary in the engineering department. Cope also mentions multiple organizations and committees that he was a part of.

Oral history interview with Alexander Nicholas conducted by Saleeh Sarwar Khan on February 24, 1980 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Nicholas discusses the increase in population in Las Vegas, Nevada and describes the type of crime that is most common in the city. Nicholas also describes the increase in pollution as more factories were built. Lastly, Nicholas discusses general changes in Las Vegas.
