Oral history interview with Hazel Gay conducted by Claytee D. White on December 02, 1995 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Gay discusses her husband being the first African-American mortician in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as being the assistant manager at the Sands Hotel and Casino and an executive at the Union Plaza. Gay also discusses running dress shops and working as a display artist and retail clerk in other shops.

Oral history interview with Woodrow Wilson conducted by Elizabeth Patrick on October 19, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Wilson discusses some roles he took on in the African American community, including president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Las Vegas, Nevada chapter. Wilson also talks about politics and the importance of the community to make changes in their living conditions.

Oral history interview with Dinah Calhoon conducted by Margaret Neel on October 27, 1971 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Calhoon first discusses the various schools that she attended and the recreational activities and social clubs in which she belonged. Calhoon then discusses the different occupations she has had and the various parts of town in which she and her family lived. The interview later includes Calhoon’s thoughts on how she believes Southern Nevada should develop socially and recreationally, and it concludes with her recounting some of her earliest memories of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Sandy Daly conducted by Bud Stephen on June 20, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project. Daly moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1947 and she describes her educational experiences and how the gaming industry related to her upbringing. Stephen also asks questions relating to politics, religion, social club membership, theater, recreational activities for children and adults, atomic testing, tourism, local sports, television, prostitution, social class, and the development of the Strip. Oral history interview with Ruth Sweet conducted by Bennie Baucham on February 07, 1977 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. Sweet discusses her first experience with racism in Las Vegas, Nevada, and describes racism practiced by sanitarians. Sweet also discusses discrimination in housing and describes how job opportunities for African Americans have improved.

Oral history interview with Daniel Romano conducted by Claytee D. White on December 10, 2018 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Romano discusses his early life Walnut, California. He talks about his father’s water ski business, moving to Boulder City, Nevada, and attending dinner shows in Las Vegas. Romano recalls his involvement with The Neon Museum, copyright issues with the signs, and the growth of the museum. Lastly, Romano discusses the history behind one of his homes.

Peter Michel is Acting Director of University of Nevada, Las Vegas Lied Library's Special Collections and Archives. This interview was conducted in part for the 20th year celebration of Lied Library. He discusses the construction of Lied Library and his time working in Special Collections and Archives. Peter also talks of his early life, university studies, and professional career that led him to Las Vegas, along with his thoughts on what the future holds for UNLV's Special Collections and Archives.
