The H. E. and Ruth Hazard Political Papers (1937-1977) consist of papers and memorabilia related to Nevada and national Democratic politics. It includes materials about the Nevada legislature; clippings and information about the Nevada Tax Commission; political memorabilia including invitations and programs related to the presidential inaugurations of Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter; documents about the purchase of Basic Magnesium Inc. by the state of Nevada; and newspaper clippings.
The James Cashman Sr. Papers date from approximately 1890 to 1969 and contain correspondence, photographs, insurance records, and bank records related to Cashman and his businesses in Southern Nevada. The collection documents the lives of the Cashman family and their businesses in southern Nevada.
The Oran K. Gragson Papers (1955-1998) contain former Las Vegas, Nevada Mayor Oran K. Gragson's professional and personal papers, and include correspondence, files concerning Gragson's tenure as Mayor of Las Vegas, Nevada, arbitration documents from disputes between labor unions and Las Vegas casinos, committee notes, financial plans, and documents from Clark County and Las Vegas government departments. The collection also contains city development plans, environmental reports, political party documents, memorabilia, ephemera, photographs, awards, newspaper clippings, and scrapbooks.
Hazel Baker Denton Papers (1907-1957) contain correspondence, family artifacts, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, and family biographical information. Included are journals that chronicle the years Denton served as an Assemblywoman for the Nevada State Legislature and a copy of her book, Ironing Day, her newspaper columns, and speeches.
The Valda and Esper Esau Collection on Lido de Paris (1954-2014) mainly consists of newspaper clippings, ephemera, and programs documenting the career of entertainer Valda Esau, who danced in the Lido de Paris show at the Stardust Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada in the late 1950s. Other materials in this collection include show programs for other shows held in France featuring the Bluebell Girls dance troupe such as the original Lido de Paris. The collection also includes invitation and photographs featuring Esper Esau from Pzazz! '70, a show that was produced by Donn Arden at the Desert Inn Hotel.
The collection, 1949 to 2006, was compiled by Clifford Olsen, a containment physicist at the Nevada Test Site (NTS). It consists of research notes and working papers written by Olsen and other scientists, publications, epoxy aggregate samples, work-related correspondence, nuclear-test-event data, and interviews conducted by Olsen with work colleagues involved with the NTS.
The D. Kenneth Richardson Papers on the Hughes Aircraft Company (1950-2011) contains correspondence, speeches, photographs, Hughes Aircraft Company executive meeting notes, and various publications from Hughes Aircraft Company and other aeronautical companies. Also included are published papers written by Richardson and a productivity study published by the Hughes Aircraft Company.
The Clifford Jones Family Papers (1900-2005) consist of awards for community service, newspaper clippings, correspondence sent to family members by Cliff Jones when he was in the military, and photograph albums of the Jones family. Clifford Jones was the 20th Lieutenant Governor for Nevada from 1947 to 1954.
The Las Vegas High School Class of 1929 Collection (1921-1979) contains materials relating to the Las Vegas High School graduating class of 1929. Materials include a scrapbook with photographs, pamphlets, fliers, and newspaper clippings from the thirtieth, fortieth, forty-fifth, and fiftieth reunions, as well as poster boards and oversized photographs from the 1920s.
The Kim Sisters material date from 1959 to 1966 and 1983. It consists of two scrapbooks and one folder of photocopied materials containing newspaper clippings about the appearances of the Kim Sisters muscial group throughout the United States as well as Italy, Germany, and Spain. It also includes two record album sleeves.
