Transcribed from behind the image,"'Tom Wah and Gue Gim Wah, his wife-when Tom's Chinese boarding house at the Prince Mine burned down, he moved into Prince one-room schoolhouse to serve meals (briefly one summer) later purchased the mine store from Hodges and Cook where a more adequate boarding house was again established- Tom died soon after. This photo taken in front of Prince schoolhouse, Pioche, Nevada.' Handwritten note by Elizabeth Gemmell Frizzell."

Description
National Business and Professional Women's (BPW) Day in Las Vegas. Identified from left to right: 1. Arnold Christensen, 2. Emma Frank, 3. George Dickerson, District Attorney, 4. Yolanda Seiffer, Parlimaterian for the Vegas Valley Business and Professional Women's Club, 5. Harley Harmon, Chairman of the County Commissioners. Photo inscription reads: "[The men] explained the duties of the commissioners to BPW members Yolanda and Emma. It was on National BPW day when the business women were shown through the city and county offices to acquaint them with the intricicies of the office. A luncheon in hotel Thunderbird folowed, where 20 BPW members had 20 city and county officers as guests."

Description
Governor Russell cutting the ribbon at Scotty's Castle Road. Inscription with photo reads: "A rope held on one side by a dummy burrow [sic] and on the other side by a dummy prospector. Very western and unique. The road from Highway 95 to Scotty's Castle. Pahrump road was 'bumped' off top priority for the Castle Road, 'because Pahrump didn't warrant a road,' one of the Nye County Commissioners said." Description
Well-dressed women stand together under an awning for a group photo. Dorothy is in the fourth row from the front, wearing a black hat. All of the women are wearing a pin on their blouses, (their left side). Inscription with photo reads: "The Social Directors of the City and Resort Hotels of the West. A hotel club group who stimulated business for all making reservations from place to place for them, as well as doing social work for guests in resorts, etc. Mrs. Coffman (Palm Springs), Mrs. Curry (Yosemite), Mrs. Hull (all Hull chain incl. Description
Dorothy Varnum stands on a podium next to a large campfire. A man sits nearby on the podium at a piano. Spectators sit and stand, facing Dorothy. Inscription with photo reads: "Jul 6, 1940. As Social Executive in the Idlewild Inn in the San Jacinto Moutains, above Palm Springs (the tram goes to the top). Dorothy Dorothy (then Dorothy Varnum) conducted a nightly campfire program and community 'sing' outside during the week, and inside the Inn lobby on Sundays. As director of entertainment she traveled from S.F. to San Diego visiting the big hotels." With photo is another inscription "This photograph is not to be reproduced without written permission - Claude Hess."

Description
Children line up outside schoolhouse for funeral procession for Orley Wardle. The children all wear coats and hats, and many are wearing all black. Included with photograph is a Xerox of a letter to Dr. Elizabeth Patrick from Luella and Austin [Wardle?], dated May 19, 1982. Letter says that Austin's brother's name was Orley R. Wardle and he was born in Park City, Utah in 1899. Orley passed away at the age of 8 years old on February 11, 1907 from spinal menengitis. Luella said that many died from the same sickness that winter.

In front of them lies an open bear trap.
