Description
Black and white image with an exterior view of the home of W. R. Thomas in Las Vegas. The postcard is addressed to Miss Olive Lake, 483 West Center Street, Pomona, California. The postmark is from Las Vegas, Nevada in October 191- (the last number is illegible). The handwritten text on the back reads: "Dear Olive, Received your card a couple of days ago but I tell my lessons take all my time. Have a fine teacher one that knows what he's doing. Gee, I miss you. Will write late Wanda." The handwritten text on the front reads: "I played for the [R.] Church last Sunday night and will play tonight. I want you to write as often as you can."

Black and white image showing an exterior view of the Manual Training School in Las Vegas. The postcard is made out to Bob Eglington, 347 Penn. Avenue, Los Gatos, CA. It is postmarked October 5th, 1938. The message reads, "Hope you're getting along O.K. We're getting things done gradually. May not be back until Mon. so don't be worried, so much yet to do. Mother." Black and white image showing an exterior view of J. Warren Woodard's camp and service station in downtown Las Vegas. Additional description provided by UNLV Special Collection: "In 1926, Earle managed the Station and Camp on Main near Bonanza site of first school in Vegas, in 1905. A tent house - boarded up about halfway and desks built against the fall - pupils sat facing the wall. Miss Plum (sp?) from Reno was the teacher." Note: "Earle" previously referred to may be Earle Eglington.

St. Christopher's Catholic Church, the first Catholic Church in Southern Nevada. It was originally located on Las Vegas Boulevard North, but moved to 1800 Bruce Street in 1959. The parish dates back to 1909. The last mass before relocating relocating the church was held on September 6, 1959.
