From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series V. Smoky Valley, Nevada and Round Mountain, Nevada -- Subseries V.A. Carver, Carver-Duhme, and Carver-Book Families (Smoky Valley). When Gerald Miller Carver purchased his Smoky Valley, Nevada ranch from Ed Turner, Carver agreed to allow Turner to live on the property. Turner resided in the cabin pictured on the left. Carver purchased the ranch for $5,200 which included 80 head of cattle. This photograph was taken prior to Carver’s purchase of the ranch.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Academic Achievement Awards Records (1999-2012) contain planning files, digital and physical photographs, and programs for the annual Academic Achievement Awards event. The annual event, organized by the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, celebrates award winners across the University of Nevada, Las Vegas including awards for students, staff, and faculty. This collection also includes planning materials and programs for the Honors Convocation, which celebrates student academic achievements. The planning materials in this collection include correspondence, venue layouts, order request forms, press, schedule of events, and scripts for event speakers.

University of Nevada, Las Vegas Division of Student Affairs Records contains reports on student demographics and usage statistics of the Student Services program, as well as inter-departmental correspondence that date between 1958 and 1979. The majority of the correspondence is dated between 1970 and 1977 and is primarily from Dr. Robert E. Glennen, UNLV's Vice President for Educational Services at the time. The collection also contains student handbooks, codes of conduct, Greek Life information, Moyer Student Union newsletters and brochures, and other student-related material.
