Freda (Humphrey) Schuyler in 1924, around 22 years old. Probably taken at time of her graduation from University of Nevada in Reno, earning her high school teaching certificate.
Nevada Governor Paul Laxalt (center) helps Nevada National Guardsmen cut a cake. The photograph was taken by LV News Bureau on November 23, 1967. The cake has inscription "Nevada National Guard" and 3 illustrations on it: the US flag on the left, Nevada Army National Guard logo in the center and Nevada flag on the right.
Materials contain photographs of Las Vegas, Nevada from 1960 to 1979. The photographs primarily depict properties owned by Howard Hughes after he moved to Las Vegas in 1966, including the Desert Inn, the Silver Slipper, the Landmark Hotel, the Sands Hotel, and the Frontier Hotel. The photographs also include the Spring Mountain Ranch that Hughes purchased for his wife Jean Peters and aerial views of the Las Vegas Strip.
