Typed on a piece of paper attached to the image: "Readying Hughes' plane for Paris flight-- Mechanics hastened to put Howard Hughes's Lockheed 14 monoplane in shape for a flight from Floyd Bennett Airport herem to Paris. Motor trouble forced postponement and helpers were working under injunction to have the ship ready for a takeoff, July 9, "at the earliest possible moment." On February 21, 1980, collector Bob Bush interviewed porter and retired military man, Hugh E. Key (born on November 17th, 1919 in Fordyce, Arkansas) in Las Vegas, Nevada. This interview covers the life of a Las Vegas old-timer. Hugh Keys’ wife, Mrs. Key, is also present during the interview and offers a few remarks.

Description given with photo: "Hughes Submits Written Question, Washington: Howard Hughes tosses a written question to Sen. Homer Ferguson, chairman of the Senate War Investigation sub-committee, Nov. 8. Hughes was refused permission to take the stand and charged Ferguson was "throwing every obstacle" in the way of presenting testimony favorable to Hughes himself. On Ferguson's right is Sen. Carl Hatch, while the committee's chief counsel, William P. Rigers, faces the camera in the background. Credit (ACME) 11/9/47."
