Oral history interview with John McKay conducted by Donna Malloy on March 03, 1980 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, McKay talks about his experiences living in Las Vegas, Nevada since the 1950s. McKay begins by speaking about his family history, his career in the electronics and engineering field for aerospace, as well as his experiences in two wars. Moreover, McKay speaks about his hobbies of hunting and fishing and his time as a musician around Las Vegas. McKay also spends time going over how the city of Las Vegas has grown and changed, the increase in crime, and the extreme floods in the 1950s. Lastly, McKay talks about the Nuclear Test Site, how casino gaming chips were used as money around the city, how the city of Las Vegas started and the future of the valley. Oral history interview with Agnes C. Marshall conducted by Rebecca Snetselaar on April 02, 2016 for the Folklife Program of the Nevada Arts Council and the Oral History Research Center at UNLV Libraries. Marshall begins the interview speaking about where she came from and African American culture. She explains the traditions and celebrations she participates in. Marshall also talks about food and explains how she makes some of those dishes. Lastly, she talks about gardening and her involvement within the community and neighborhood.

Oral history interview with Liz Butler conducted by David Schwartz on September 27, 2010 for the UNLV Libraries Oral History Collection. Butler explains that she has worked as a cocktail waitress at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino since the early 1970s. She describes what the casino was like, the types of entertainment, and the less developed nature of North Las Vegas, Nevada during this early period. She also talks about the level of racial prejudice that existed in Las Vegas, something that she compared unfavorably to her hometown of Newark, New Jersey. Finally, she discusses the details of her job, good and bad bosses, problems with customers, and how she deals with underage patrons.

Oral history interview with Alan Bowman conducted by Erik Peluso on October 23, 2008 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Bowman reflects upon his roughly 30-year career as a teacher and administrator with the Clark County School District (CCSD) from the 1970s to the 2000s. He discusses his decision to pursue school administration, and challenges that he frequently faced. He also discusses the relationship that school administrators foster with the Board of Education, and the importance of administrators staying current in local affairs that affect the community and school policies.

Oral history interview with Joseph Gemma conducted by Dan Murphy on March 1, 1979 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Gemma discusses employment opportunities, construction work, housing developments, and hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Gemma also recalls social and environmental changes, local recreation, sports, and the importance of gambling in Nevada.

Oral history interview with Harold Smith conducted by Troy Durham on July 08, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Smith discusses arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1943 and recalls his first impressions of the city. Smith also talks about his employment at the Basic Magnesium Plant in Henderson, Nevada. Finally, he discusses the development of Fremont Street, recreational activities, and the Las Vegas Strip.

Oral history interview with Goldie Spicer conducted by Elmer Herren on February 12, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Spicer discusses working as a cocktail waitress. She also talks about the boom that Las Vegas, Nevada went through when the first casinos were being built, and when the construction of the Boulder (Hoover) Dam occurred. She discusses El Rancho, Twin Lakes, and the Taylor Ranch.
