Abstract

Oral history interview with Ben Frank Hoffman Jr. conducted by Tony Morneau on September 20, 1973 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Hoffman discusses his personal life and the history of Las Vegas, Nevada. He specifically talks about Las Vegas, Nevada in the early 1930s before the Las Vegas Strip was created, and the early Strip casinos and hotels that were built in the 1940s.

Bejamin Lesser escaped Poland to temporary safety in Hungary in 1943. He was sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau, and other concentration camps. He survived and was liberated from Dachau in 1945.

Group of photographs and ephemera from the family of Ben Rosenfeld. Photographs show Ben Rosenfeld on horseback during Helldorado in Las Vegas and golfing with friends. Clippings and newsletters document events from Temple Beth Sholom and B'nai B'rith in the 1950s. Also included in this collection are programs and ephemera from various Las Vegas hotels and casinos.
