Digital photographs shot in the Las Vegas Valley, Nevada, include color images of street scenes, neighborhoods, developments, land use, housing, flood control, parks, traffic patterns, and parts of the tourism corridor including casinos and hotels.

Abstract

The UNLV Libraries Collection on Casino Game Protection includes resources on casino security dating from 1975 to 2004 compiled by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Special Collections and Archives. Materials include published reports related to casino security, gaming legislation, and gaming controls. It also contains information from surveillance information network reports, including the Griffin Book by Griffin Investigations, and other sources that document persons who committed offenses in casinos. The reports were designed to assist casino operators in spotting cheaters, advantage players, and scam artists.

Description

On March 13, 1976, Robert Pearce interviewed attorney Marion B. Earl (Born September 13, 1897 in Bunkerville, Nevada) at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marion relocated to Las Vegas in 1923. During the interview Marion discusses serving as a member of the board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce, and then being elected president of the chamber in 1941. He also discusses being elected justice of the peace in 1934, and serving for two terms. He offers additional insight on the growth of Las Vegas and the history of Southern Nevada.
