The Halina Kretkowski Papers (1962-1991) consist of documents detailing Halina Kretkowski’s life during high school, college, and law school. The majority of the materials are notes and coursework from Kretkowski’s studies at the University of Wisconsin and the Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, California. Also included are political magazines and personal correspondence.
The Downtown Las Vegas Design Drawings (approximately 2011-2014) is comprised of seven design drawings created for select businesses located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The drawings are colored on tissue and were created by BUNNYFiSH studio, an architectural firm located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection includes three drawings for a porte-cochère at the D Las Vegas hotel; drawings for the exteriors of the Hydrant Club, Inspire, and HOP Downtown; and an interior drawing for Scullery.
The Arturo Amaya Papers (1994-2017) are comprised of photographs and periodicals representing Amaya's involvement with the Latinx community in Las Vegas, Nevada. In particular, the photographs document activities of the Las Vegas Peruvian Cultural Heritage Association that Amaya founded. The collection includes issues of local magazines Amaya was involved with as a creator, publisher, and writer including: El Heraldo Latino, Lesgabit, and Ultimahora. Photographs in this collection document activities of the Las Vegas Peruvian Cultural Heritage Association, parades at Las Vegas Centennial Park, activities at the East Las Vegas Community Center, anniversaries of the Independence of Peru celebrated at Sunset Park and on Fremont Street, and the International Food Folklife Festival for Clark County.
The Nevada Southern University Football Scrapbook (approximately 1960-1968) contains one scrapbook with newspaper clippings highlighting Nevada Southern University's (NSU) men's football team, the Rebels, during the 1968 season and features players such as Mario Aguero, Bill Casey, John Hall, Jim Mathis, and Jimmy Thompson as well as NSU football coach, Bill Ireland. The collection also contains loose newspaper clippings about NSU football and tickets to the inaugural football banquet.
UNLV Libraries Collection of Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino Promotional and Publicity Materials includes newspaper clippings, press kits, press releases, and promotional materials for the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, dating from 1982 to 2005.
The UNLV Libraries Collection of Gaming Industry Promotional Materials and Reports (1946-2019) includes press releases, promotional materials, press kits and clippings for hotels and casinos located throughout Nevada, with the majority of Nevada-based properties located in Las Vegas or Reno. Other locations include Atlantic City, New Jersey and some international hotels and casinos. The collection also contains promotional materials for various Nevada-based gaming companies and corporations, such as press releases, press kits, and product brochures.
The UNLV Libraries Collection of Hilton Hotels Corporation Promotional Materials and Financial Reports includes promotional materials, press materials, photographs, financial reports, and newspaper and magazine clippings for Hilton Hotels Corporation located in Tysons Corner, Virginia, and the Flamingo Hilton and Las Vegas Hilton located in Las Vegas, Nevada dating from 1964 to 2007.
The Rita Deanin Abbey Exhibition Catalogs (1975-1991) are comprised primarily of exhibition catalogs featuring Abbey's art at various museums and international exhibitions including the Palm Springs Desert Museum, the University of New Mexico Art Museum, Biennale Internationale d’Email Laval, and the International Exhibition of Enamelling Art in Japan. The collection also contains invitations to Abbey's art shows at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as well as a copy of Abbey's curriculum vitae. Also included are select issues of Leonardo, International Journal of the Contemporary Artist featuring artists' notes written by Abbey.
The Eddie Hawk Jim Family Papers (1891-2011) contain newspaper clippings, photographs, school, cemetary, and census records pertaining to the Jim family, a Paiute family from the Pahrump, Nevada region. The newspaper articles document the general public's perspective of events involving the Paiute people living in the Pahrump Valley region. The photographs depict Mary Scott, Alice Jim, Long Jim, and other relatives of the Jim family during the 1940s and 1950s. Additional photographs include a larger group of tribal members gathered in 2011 at Mt. Charleston, Nevada. These papers have been gathered by the Jim family as the foundation of a Pahrump Paiute Tribal Archive that other members may build upon. This collection consists entirely of digital surrogates.
The UNLV Libraries Collection of Nevada Mining Maps consists of five flat files and one box containing maps depicting mines, shafts, and mining claims primarily in Southern Nevada from approximately 1860 to 1950.
