Arum, Lovee

Lovee Arum is the Chief Financial Officer of the Morris A. Hazan Family Foundation and Director of Hospitality for her husband Bob Arum’s boxing promotion company Top Rank. She holds a Nevada Real Estate Broker Sales License and was a partner in Western Linen (a Las Vegas linen rental and laundry company) for many years. Arum is a volunteer and philanthropist in the Las Vegas, Nevada community and works with organizations such as Temple Beth Sholom and the Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Clemens, Greg (Gregory Richard), 1965-

Greg Clemens is a real estate agent in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Las Vegas in August 16, 1965 and has lived there since. Clemens attended Western High School and later graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1987. Clemens worked for Blue Streak Couriers and DG Reality, and was a founding partner of Acclaim Merchant Services. He currently works at Coldwell Banker Premier Realty Las Vegas as a realtor.

Romans, Lorenzo, 1875-1965

Lorenzo Romans (1875-1965) was born in Iowa. His family moved to Los Angeles, California when he was very young and he spent the majority of his life in that city, working primarily in real estate. In 1894, Romans was hired to escort a client to the Las Vegas valley to purchase land; while in the valley, he stayed as a guest of Helen Stewart at the Las Vegas Rancho. After his retirement, Romans moved permanently to Las Vegas in 1950. He died in 1965 and was buried in Glendale, California.

George, Hampton Ellis, 1857-1907

Hampton Ellis George was born on January 18, 1857 in Yates City, Illinois to Ellis and Malita George. George moved to Los Angeles, California and managed salt mines and real estate in early Las Vegas, Nevada. Hampton George married Sadie Bell Kiel on November 28, 1887 and passed away on August 25, 1907 at the age of 50.

Coleman, Samuel, 1928-

Samuel Coleman was born in Durant, Mississippi, in 1928. His family moved to Chicago. He worked at different jobs until he started working for Burlington Railroad as a cook. Samuel was drafted by the Army in 1951 and sent to Korea. After the war, he went back to work for Burlington Railroad as a waiter. Samuel retired from the railroad in the 1970s and worked in real estate, as the owner of a liquor store, a firefighter, a restaurant inspector, and as a deacon for his church. One of his daughters moved to Las Vegas, and he joined her in 1999.

Fine, Susan Greenspun, 1945-

Susan (Greenspun) Fine is a Las Vegas, Nevada philanthropist and former member of the Women's Philanthropy Council of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas. She was born September 16, 1945, in Springfield, Massachusetts and her family moved to Las Vegas in 1946. Her father, Hank Greenspun, was the editor and owner of the Las Vegas Sun newspaper. She was married to real estate developer Mark Fine and is currently married to Max Spilka.

Abstract

Oral history interview with Susan and Irwin Molasky conducted by Michael Geeser on May 15, 2006 for the I Remember When: Recollections from Las Vegas Jewish Leaders Oral History Project. They talk about the founding of the Nathan Adelson Hospice and about the Jewish community in Las Vegas, Nevada. Irwin talks about building the first high-rise condominium and the first high-rise office building in Las Vegas, about building Sunrise Hospital and Boulevard Mall, about the future of Las Vegas, light rail in the city, and the Las Vegas downtown and its future. They also discuss the water supply in southern Nevada and the possibility of a high-speed railroad from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
