The early Las Vegas, Nevada photographs document early Euro-American settlers in the Las Vegas Valley and the development of the original Las Vegas town site from approximately 1900 to 1940. The photographs depict the Union Pacific Railroad depot, early businesses on Fremont Street, the Clark County Courthouse, saloons, hotels, and casinos. The materials include photographs of Fremont Street and other Las Vegas landmarks, schools in Las Vegas, the Mormon Fort (the oldest non-indigenous settlement in the Las Vegas Valley), banks, parades, downtown Las Vegas, and the Helldorado Days parade.
The early Las Vegas, Nevada historical materials series dates from 1905 to 1980 and is comprised of visual materials that reflect the development of early Las Vegas, aerial photographs of Las Vegas in 1976, photographs of early built structures, newspaper clippings, and books.
