Abstract
The Von Tobel Family Papers (1905-1997) consist of photographs, correspondence, and financial reports pertaining to the early Las Vegas Von Tobel family and their businesses, which they operated in Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection also contains newspaper clippings covering the life of Edward Von Tobel Sr. and some of the operational business records of the Von Tobel Hardware Store No. 301.

Oral history interview with Ffolliott "Fluff" LeCoque conducted by Betty Rosental on March 03, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview Fluff LeCoque discusses the first time she worked with black entertainers which was at the Thunderbird Hotel and Casino, the various black artists she worked with, segregation at the Las Vegas Strip, and her extensive career in the Las Vegas entertainment business.

Later she moved to Las Vegas, where she served as a community activist and worked as one of the first black 21-dealers.

On March 1, 1980, Larry E. Cooper interviewed general contractor Ernest (Ernie) Jackson Junior (born December 6th, 1932 in Bruce, Mississippi) in Cooper’s home about his experiences in the Westside as a Black Las Vegas resident. Jackson Jr. discusses the lack of property buyers on the Westside and his goals of improving the Westside by building on the land. Jackson Jr. also discusses his youth as a baseball star for Las Vegas High School in the fifties.

He then talks about Las Vegas, including social changes, changes in the gaming industry, and mob influence in the casinos. He also talks about Reno, how his job affects the public, and the MX Missile system.
