Oral history interview with Walter Dane conducted by Ann K. Clark on March 11, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Dane discusses relocating to Indian Springs in 1930 before settling in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1943, then moving to Utah in 1968. Dane also covers the growth and development of the Las Vegas and Indian Springs areas.

Abstract

Oral history interview with David Bruce Dill conducted by Luise A. Soholt on March 13, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Bruce Dill discusses his experience as a researcher in physiology, specifically in Boulder City, Nevada. Dill first discusses his educational background, studies done around the world, and his interest in the effects of heat on the workers of Boulder Dam. He then discusses the topics and findings of some of his studies, including one on heat cramps and one on a comparison between sweating in a dog versus in a human.

Oral history interview with Harry Brown conducted by James Hopkins for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. During the interview, Brown describes some of his experiences from being in the Sheriff’s Mounted Posse, the equivalent of a modern search and rescue team, which was deputized by the sheriff. Brown additionally describes the tradition of the Helldorado parades, in which he was a part, and he provides his overall thoughts on living in Las Vegas, Nevada.
