Abstract
The UNLV University Libraries Collection of Posters is comprised of posters featuring Southern Nevada with a focus on Las Vegas, Nevada, collected by the University Libraries Special Collections and Archives. The material dates between 1891 and 2002, with the bulk of the material dating between 1940 and 2002. The collection includes posters of movies filmed in Las Vegas, casino marketing and advertisement posters, newspaper clippings, political rallies and campaign advertisement posters, and event promotions.

Description
Remains of two cars, most likely near the remains of Hugh Lord's shop, in St Thomas, Nevada, when the town emerged from the waters of Lake Mead in 1945
Transcribed Notes: Bureau of Reclamation typed notes appended to back of photo: Boulder Canyon Project--Nevada--Region 3 St. Thomas, Nevada, was founded by the Mormons in 1855. In its heyday there were about 800 residents in the village. The "Main Street" was a part of the old Arrowhead Trail, which led from Salt Lake City, Utah to Los Angeles, California. In June 1938 the town was abandoned by its residents, which at that time were few in number because of the rising waters of Lake Mead that submerged the townsite. Photograph shows a closeup of two cars abandoned by their owners. Note the wide wooden wheel on the car to the right; also, the smaller wheel with wooden spokes. The wide wooden wheel was used as an "engine" to pump water, the belt being placed on this wooden wheel.

In 1945, after having been flooded for 7 years, receding waters of Lake Mead revealed St. Thomas much as it has appeared in former years. This photo was taken looking toward Mormon Mesa. The receding waters of the lake can be seen in the center of the photo.

Abstract
The Clark County Central Labor Council Records date from 1938 to 1968 and represent Ragnold Fyhen's written account of how the Clark County Central Labor Council union was formed. The work includes the activities and meetings of the labor union and Fyhen's work (1933-1947) while Secretary-Treasurer of the Central Labor Council. This work is entitled "Labor Notes." Additionally the collection contains a resolution submitted to the Central Labor Council in 1938 in regards to proposing new legislation to regulate the Clark County hospital.

Albert S. Henderson Papers

Abstract
The Albert S. Henderson Papers (1879-1962), document his career and service as a district judge in Las Vegas, Nevada. Included are correspondence, a personal statement from his election campaign, certificates and proclamations, his memorial book, numerous newspaper clippings, an 1879 edition of Eureka and Its Resources, and various ephemera: union cards, name tags, and election cards.

Abstract
The Doris Hancock Papers (1895-1987) consist of school memorabilia, correspondence, sketches, two scrapbooks, and material from her involvement in the Las Vegas Art League. Also included are materials about Southern Nevada and surrounding areas, particularly mining towns, Colorado River, Boulder Dam, Red Rock Canyon, early Las Vegas, and Death Valley.

Abstract
The Lake-Eglington Family Photograph Collection contains photographs of the Lake-Eglington Family in and around Las Vegas, Nevada from 1900 to 1976. The materials include photographs of early Las Vegas resident Olive Lake-Eglington and her family shortly after they moved to Las Vegas in 1904, as well as her eventual husband Earle Eglington after he moved to Las Vegas in 1911. The materials also include photographs of Native American artifacts, schools in Clark County, Nevada, artesian wells, the Hoover (Boulder) Dam, the Colorado River, Mt. Charleston, the Mormon Fort, the Stewart (Kiel) Ranch, the Las Vegas Ranch, and many early residents of Las Vegas.
