Maryellen Vallier Sadovich (1926-2011) was a journalist and charter member of the Southern Nevada Historical Society. She was the Society's research secretary from 1964 to 1969 and was instrumental in uncovering the historical significance of the Spring Mountain Ranch, which led to the establishment of the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. She wrote two books about Southern Nevada: Guide to Southern Nevada (1976) andThe Mysterious Valley Caliente, Nevada (2000). In addition, she also co-authored several other books about early Nevada.

William W. Boyd was born in McNeil, Arkansas on January 27th, 1906. McNeil went to school until the 10th grade and then went to work in the oil fields of Arkansas. Boyd moved to Nevada in 1945. Boyd worked as a professional poker player and managed the poker room of the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.

Clyde Gail Andress arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the early 1930s and, except for relocations due to military service in World War Two, remained an active citizen of Las Vegas until retiring to Nelson, Nevada, in 1987. Hiss careers spanned a number of occupations, from car dealerships to construction work.

Arthur C. Lurie (1918-2014) was a Las Vegas, Nevada businessman and boxing judge. Born in Los Angeles, California on April 1, 1918, Lurie served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Las Vegas in 1954. In Las Vegas he owned a bar called Art's Place and was a co-owner of Wonder World Liquors. He was also a founding member and vice president of Temple Beth Sholom. Lurie was best known for his career in boxing; he judged over forty title fights and served on the Nevada Boxing Commission under four different governors.
