The Nevada Southern Campus Fund Collection (1955) consists of the Nevada Southern University Book of Donors. This oversized scrapbook contains the names of local businesses, politicians, and Las Vegans who donated over $50 to the Nevada Southern Campus Fund in 1955. Nevada Southern University later became the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Some names include Elks Lodge, Rotary Club of Las Vegas, and Junior League of Las Vegas.
The Nevada Campaign for Choice Records (1987-1990) address the 1989-1990 pro-choice campaign regarding the legality of abortion and codifying Roe v. Wade in Nevada. Records include material on the campaign structure, finances, steering committee, minutes, campaign literature, correspondence, campaign buttons and stickers, mailing lists, clippings, two video tapes, and one audio tape.
Handwritten description provided on back of image: "Nevada Hatch, family trad. That she was first Anglo-Saxon child born in Nevada." Included with the image is a copy of a typed letter which reads: "Miss Merle Irwin, Vista del Monte, #118 3775 Modoc Road Santa Barbara, California 93105. Jan. 10, 1978. University of Nevada, Library, Las Vegas. My dear Friends: A year ago my brother and I visited and talked to a lovely lady to whom I promised a photograph of a distant cousin in Michigan, named NEVADA HATCH, because it was said she was the first Anglo-Saxon child born in Nevada. I have now secured it from my brother, Warren Irwin, at 9457 Las Vegas Blvd., Paradise Spa #4, have had a copy made, and herewith send you the original. Sincerely, Merle Irwin." The Nevada Federation of Women's Clubs (NFWC) Records date from 1907 until 1999 and document the administration, activities, and publications of the NFWC. During the twentieth century, the NFWC included member clubs from throughout the state of Nevada including the Mesquite Club in Las Vegas, the Reno Women's Civic Club, and the Lamoille Women's Club. The collection includes meeting minutes and agendas, correspondence, publications, reports, and newspaper clippings.
