Materials contain photographs of the Lowe Family from 1900 to 1965. Materials include photographs of machinery used to transport ore, students, locations in California, Noonday Mine, and buildings in Goodsprings and Las Vegas. The materials also include photographs of the Goodsprings Hotel, which was purchased by Deke and Celesta Lowe.

Transcribed Notes: Transcribed from handwritten inscription on back of photo by Elizabeth Harrington: "Las Vegas Creek, formed by the overflow from one well that supplied the town of Las Vegas with its complete water supply for many years. This picture taken in 1925 near the head of the creek. Las Vegas Creek furnished a welcome playground for many youths, especially in the hot weather."

Materials include original, reprinted, and photocopied scientific reports containing information on wildlife ecology, nuclear waste, and other environmental factors related to the southwestern United States. The international authors and studies provide relevant scientific perspectives on topics related to the southwest, such as animal behavior, plant growth, water movement, and nuclear radiation.
