Description
A black and white image from a Chamber of Commerce meeting in Las Vegas. This group of men and women are standing in front of an unidentified building with signs advertising its dining room and the Apache Beauty Salon. This photo was taken from a time capsule in the cornerstone of the Union Pacific Railroad station located in Las Vegas. The time capsule was placed there in 1940 and was later retrieved when the building was demolished around 1970.

A black and white image of Helen Slattery, Chicago General Traffic employee for United Airlines, sitting with Dutch Goerman, Secretary of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, in a vehicle from 1904 with the sign "Desert Love Buggy." This photo was taken from a time capsule in the cornerstone of the Union Pacific Railroad station located in Las Vegas. The time capsule was placed there in 1940 and was later retrieved when the building was demolished around 1970.

Description
An image of a man standing outside of the Big Blue service station in Baker. Hand-painted text on the outside of the building reads: "Dining room in rear, hot meals and lunches, tires and tubes, ice cream and cold drinks, modern cabins, community kitchen." Painted over the entrance is the text, "Dad Fairbanks, prop." In addition, there is also a sign for a Pickwick Greyhound Lines ticket office. Also visible are various gasoline pumps (Red Crown, standard ethyl, Gargoyle Mobiloil, Standard Oil Zerolene).

Black and white image of officials from the Six Companies of San Francisco and the Bureau of Reclamation, as well as some local individuals, signing the contract to construct Hoover Dam (note: Boulder Dam was officially renamed Hoover Dam in 1947). Henry J. Kaiser is seated and signing the contract. Standing to the far right are Walker J. Young and C.P. "Pop" Squires. Also identified in the photograph (in no particular order) are W.R. Armstrong, R.F. Walter, and Louis Crampton.
