Description
Black and white image of Olive Lake, Clyde McGriff, and Della McGriff at what appears to be a picnic, most likely located in Las Vegas. Handwritten on the bottom border of the image: "Olive, Clyde & Della McGriff." Note: Image is from a family photo album that was loaned to UNLV Libraries Special Collections and returned to the family on July 17, 1984.

Description
Max Baer, boxer on left, stands near the ropes of the ring while others attend to challenging boxer, "Big Ed" Murphy. Onlookers and possibly the referee stand near with a megaphone. Transcription with photograph: "Max Baer fighter in photo. Ed Murphy was Baer's contender. Murphy was a Tonopah man living in Silver Peak. Knocked out in first round." See Image 0141 0032 pho024066.

Description
Governor Russell cutting the ribbon at Scotty's Castle Road. Inscription with photo reads: "A rope held on one side by a dummy burrow [sic] and on the other side by a dummy prospector. Very western and unique. The road from Highway 95 to Scotty's Castle. Pahrump road was 'bumped' off top priority for the Castle Road, 'because Pahrump didn't warrant a road,' one of the Nye County Commissioners said." In front of them lies an open bear trap. After the "supermarket" of the lumber and hardware industry was inaugurated by the Ed Von Tobel Lumber Company in Las Vegas in 1952, interested merchants from all over the world visited Las Vegas to view the operation. Pictured here is one such delegation from Australia. Left to right are J. O. Geddes and A. Description
The family of Ed Von Tobel, Sr. are present at the ceremony by the City of Las Vegas honoring Ed Von Tobel Sr., and Jake Beckley. The City of Las Vegas Diamond Jubilee (1905-1980) Historic Marker was placed at the site where Von Tobel and Beckley established their lumber yard in 1906. Standing left to right are George Von Tobel, Ed Von Tobel Jr., Ed's wife Mary, Elizabeth Von Tobel Zahn (married name), and Jake Von Tobel.
