A parade float featuring characters from The Wizard of Oz passes in front of the Frontier Club on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. A sign on the side of the float says Hotel Last Frontier. Parts of the Golden Nugget Gambling Hall and the Santa Anita Turf & Bar are visible on the sides of the photograph.

This parade was in support of the 1948 elections, as indicated by the banner in the photo, urging citizens to vote Democratic: Harry S. Truman for President, Alben W. Barkley for Vice-President, and Walter S. Baring, Jr. for Congress. The following buildings and signs can be seen in the photograph: Overland Hotel; Pioneer Club; Club Savoy; Boulder Club; Eldorado; Golden Nugget Saloon.
