Bruns also held a job as a stewardess before marrying her husband in 1949. She passed away March 04, 1998.

Dane, Walter E., 1914-1988

Walter Dane was born August 10, 1914 in Escalante, Utah. He moved to Indian Springs, Nevada with his father in 1930 and stayed because he enjoyed the freedom and nature. He started working for his future wife’s father’s business in service stations. Dane and his wife, Virginia, moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1943 so their kids could be properly educated. He held careers as an automobile repairman. Dane passed away January 18, 1988.

Danzinger, Edwina E., 1925-2010

Edwina Danzinger was born February 05, 1925 in Houston, Texas. She moved to California in 1944. She met her husband, Charles, while working as a secretary to the superintendent of the wielding shop that Charles was working at. They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1950 and raised their three children there. She worked at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the registrar’s office as a clerk for many years. Danzinger died August 7, 2010.

Helen Early was born September 03, 1919 in Des Moines, Iowa. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1948 after marrying her husband and moving with his business in the city. Her career spanned in secretary work, managing shops and theatres, and being an elementary school teacher’s aide. Early passed away October 15, 2008.

Chenin-Frankl, Lori

Lori Chenin-Frankl was born December 7, 1960. Chenin-Frankl is the child of a Holocaust survivor, Fernande Magalnik Chenin, and Simon Chenin, a barber. In 1963, the Chenin family moved from Cleveland, Ohio, to Las Vegas for her father’s health. The city was already home to her uncle Dr. Joe Chenin, the first licensed Jewish dentist in Southern Nevada and a good place for the family to settle in. Her father worked his barber business and her mother was a clerk for the school bus yard.

Esther Toporek Finder was the president and founder of Generations of the Shoah – Nevada (GS-N), an organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada for the children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. GS-N's mission is to support local Holocaust survivors and educate community members about the Holocaust and its legacy.

Greenberg, Melanie

Melanie Greenberg was born June 24, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. She came to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1976 with her daughter Sari and husband Gene Greenberg. She is an active member of Temple Beth Sholom, the Jewish Federation’s Young Leadership and Women’s programs, organizer of Hebrew High, coordinator of L’Dor V’Dor activities for seniors, and served as Executive Director of Hillel from 1996 – 2003.
