Oral history interview with Grant M. Bowler conducted by David N. Cunningham on February 20, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. During this interview, Bowler discusses his personal family history in relation to Nevada, education, employment, and his thirty seven years of experience as a principal in Moapa Valley, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Robert Bugbee conducted by Karol Sorrells on July 08, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Bugbee briefly discusses his role as part of the Savings and Loan Commission in Nevada, as well as his thoughts on the above-ground atomic testing. He then talks about gaming and mining, the development of the Las Vegas Strip, and some of the biggest floods storms in the city. He mentions some of the early important community figures and talks about how Las Vegas, Nevada has grown over time, specifically in education. Bugbee later talks about the Sheriff’s Jeep Posse and eventually his thoughts on racial issues and prejudice in Las Vegas.

The Leon Rockwell Photograph Collection (approximately 1850-1979) contains black-and-white photographic prints, negatives, and slides, as well as postcards and tintypes. The images portray the lives of the Rockwell family in southern Nevada, their travels throughout New York and the western United States, and their immediate and extended family members. Also included are images of the volunteer and early firefighters of Las Vegas, Nevada, the Rockwell's family cabin at Mount Charleston, Nevada, and the Rockwell family home in Las Vegas. Portions of the images are from the Rockwell family travels across Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and California and depict historic locations such as Cove Fort, Utah; Rhyolite, Nevada; and Pueblo Grande de Nevada.

The UNLV Libraries Collection of Nevada Mining Maps (approximately 1860-1950) consists of various maps depicting mines, shafts, and mining claims primarily in Southern Nevada.

Oral history interview with Dr. Wilbur Sylvester conducted by Elizabeth Polson on April 06, 1976 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Sylvester discusses his personal history and the history of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sylvester describes arriving in Las Vegas during the 1940s, life during that time, and prominent figures in the city, such as Maude Frazier. Sylvester continues to discuss important people in Nevada's history, like Key Pittman and other politicians. He goes on to talk about gambling in Las Vegas, tuberculosis patients who sought out drier climates to alleviate their condition, and his career as a podiatrist.

Oral history interview with Fred Thompson conducted by Henry A. LeClaire Jr. on March 15, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Thompson discusses his personal history and upbringing in Nevada. Thompson describes moving around the state due to his father's work as a miner and the types of ores his father would mine, including tungsten and uranium. Thompson also describes life in the rural desert, desert wildlife, the miners' lifestyle, and the interactions he had with Native Americans. Thompson goes on to discuss moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1965 after his father was hired as an operating engineer for the Nevada Test Site. He talks about the differences between living in the city compared to the country and how Las Vegas has evolved.

Oral history interview with Monsignor Peter Moran conducted by Audrey Cortney on February 28, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Moran discusses his life as a priest and moving from Ireland to Nevada in 1937. Moran describes being assigned to many different towns and cities in Nevada before settling in Las Vegas, Nevada. Moran describes changes that have occurred in southern Nevada since he moved there, and tells a short anecdote about an uncle that lived in Virginia City, Nevada.
