Oral history interview with Benny Binion conducted by an unknown interviewer circa 1975 to 1977. In this interview, Binion discusses his arrival to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1946 and his involvement with the town in the early 1950s. He discusses what motivated him to move, his involvement with the Las Vegas Club, and his decision to build The Westerner and eventually Binion’s Horseshoe on Fremont Street. He also describes what gaming was like in Las Vegas when he first arrived, and his interactions with other casinos such as the Flamingo, Eldorado Club, and Hotel Apache in 1951.

Oral history interview with Jack Binion conducted by David Schwartz on October 17, 2008 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Binion discusses his early life and growing up as the son of the gaming operator, Benny Binion. He talks about working with Joe Brown at the Horseshoe Casino, the opening of the Golden Nugget, and casino surveillance. Lastly, Binion describes downtown Las Vegas, Nevada during 1960s and its popularity at the time.

Photographs of Binion’s family and friends show them posed at Binion’s casino property, Binion Ranch, and events including rodeos and the Helldorado parade. Binion’s Horseshoe photographs include views of street scenes and billboard advertisements featuring Binion’s Horseshoe, the Million Dollar Display, quarter horse sales, World Series of Poker events, Binion’s Horseshoe stagecoach, and celebrities visiting the property.
