Geran gives insights into the black experience in Las Vegas, Nevada. Geran describes her perspective of living on the Westside and the businesses that thrived there in the past, and why she remained in west Las Vegas. She also gives a peek into her family life including Catholic schools, family outings and an insightful story regarding racism and the difficulty of getting a housing loan in the 1950s.

Geuder discusses in detail the changes that occurred over the years to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, from the time she was a student to the then-present date when she worked as a professor.

Oral history interview with James Gibson conducted by Janice Peck on April 13, 1978 for a student project at the University of Nevada, Reno. Gibson discusses coming to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1927, and working for the railroad and in mining, as well as serving in the United States Navy in 1943. He then discusses earning his engineering degree, and becoming an active member of the Democratic Party, and later becoming State Senator for Clark County District 1.
