Olson, Vernon C.

Vernon C. Olson served as an accountant for Howard Hughes. He began working for Hughes in Culver City, California, but moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1973 to help manage Hughes's hotels. He served as Senior Vice President for the Hughes Corporation and later on the Board of Directors for the Summa Corporation. He retired after working for Hughes for 46 years. Olson had three children with his wife JoAnn. He passed away in Henderson, Nevada on May 30, 2012.

Pearson Urban, Ruth, 1948-

Ruth Urban was born November 16, 1948 in Los Angeles, California. At the age of ten, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with her mother and older sister. Urban spent most of her childhood in the Huntridge area and was always involved with Temple Beth Sholom. After graduating from Las Vegas High School, Urban attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she received a bachelor’s degree in social work, and later, a master’s degree in counseling.

Moran, Joan, 1943-

Joan Snyder (1943- ) was the co-founder of the Meadows Playhouse, Nevada's first professional year-round theater. She served as the artistic director from 1977 to 1982, and received a Governor's award for outstanding contribution to theater in Nevada. Snyder also served as an acting instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 1967 to 1976. She currently splits her time between Austin, Texas and Los Angeles, California, working as a keynote speaker, retreat leader, and yoga and meditation instructor, under the name Joan Frances Moran.

Consulting geologist and surveyor Franklin Mac Murphy was born on December 27, 1898 in Wheaton, Minnesota. He studied at Columbia University, the University of Arizona, and the University of California, Los Angeles, completing his graduate studies in 1930 at the California Institute of Technology, in Pasadena, California.
