Garwin, Richard L.

Richard Lawrence Garwin was boen on April 19, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio. Richard married Lois E. Garwin on April 20, 1947 and they had three children: Jeffery, Thomas, and Laura.

In 1947, Garwin obtained a bachelor of science degree in physics from Case Western Reserve University. Garwin then obtained his masters of science degree in physics (1948) and a doctor of philosophy in physics (1949) from the University of Chicago.

Gavrin, David

David Gavrin, a former teacher, has been an on and off resident of Las Vegas since 1974 until he moved permanently to the town in 2003. He and his wife, Rosa, a former CPA, were from New York and were members of Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn New York. When they moved to Las Vegas they purchased a house near Midbar Kodesh Temple and have been active members ever since with David serving as the Men's Club President.

Judge Lloyd D. George was born on February 22, 1930, in Montpelier, Idaho. He attended grade school and high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 1955. Later that same year, he entered the United States Air Force and worked as a fighter pilot in the Strategic Air Command. In 1958, he concluded his military service as a captain and in 1961, earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

Trish Geran was born on January 26, 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She went to Bishop Gorman High School and to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As of 2015, she was a subsitute teacher, author, and activist.

Geuder, Patricia A.

Patricia Geuder was born August 15, 1931 in Pontiac, Michigan. She moved to Nevada in July of 1957 to accept a teaching position at Basic High School in Henderson, Nevada. She went to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to obtain her master’s degree when there was only one building on the whole campus: Grant Hall. Geuder became part of the Department of English staff of UNLV in 1966. She left to Albuquerque, New Mexico during 1970-1971 to work on her doctorate degree, and moved back to Las Vegas to work as a Humanities professor.

Gibson, Walter B. (Walter Brown), 1897-1985

Walter B. Gibson was an American author and professional magician. He was born in Germantown, Pennsylvania on September 12, 1897. He wrote over a hundred books on magic, true crime, and games. He was a ghost writer for Sidney H. Radner, Harry Houdini, and Harry Blackstone, Sr. Gibson was most famous for his success with the pulp fiction character The Shadow, featured in comic books, magazines, and radio shows. Gibson died in Kingston, New York on December 6, 1985.
