The Kenneth H. Childers Architectural Drawings (1968, approximately 1981-1995) contain the work of Childers and his Las Vegas, Nevada architectural firm, Kenneth H. Childers Architect. The drawings depict both residential and commercial structures built primarily in Las Vegas.
The UNLV University Libraries Collection of Posters is comprised of posters featuring Southern Nevada with a focus on Las Vegas, Nevada, collected by the University Libraries Special Collections and Archives. The material dates between 1891 and 2002, with the bulk of the material dating between 1940 and 2002. The collection includes posters of movies filmed in Las Vegas, casino marketing and advertisement posters, newspaper clippings, political rallies and campaign advertisement posters, and event promotions.
This collection is comprised of a memorial book filled with handwritten condolences, memorials, and prayers for the victims of the mass shooting that occurred on October 1, 2017 at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. From October 2-10, 2017, Steve Round watched over a memorial that spontaneously developed in the median of Las Vegas Boulevard near the site of the shooting. Round invited visitors at the memorial, including families and friends of the victims, community members, first responders, and tourists, to sign the book.
The Ruthadele Stearns Doyle Lathrop Personal Papers (1900s-1991) contains scrapbooks, slides, and matted competition photographs created by Ruthadele Stearns Doyle Lathrop, a photographer and ballroom dancer. The scrapbooks include photographs of Ruthadele’s family, travels, and ballroom dance competitions, as well as newspaper clippings and other ephemera. The slides and matted photographs consist mostly of Western landscape scenes, including California and Nevada.
The J. A. Tiberti Construction Records include material documenting construction work performed throughout Las Vegas, Nevada between 1950 and 2011 including bid packages, specifications, contracts, correspondence, company records, legal documents, and architectural plans.
Collection is comprised of blackjack odds analyzing and strategy software manuals and software created primarily by Real World Casino and Stanford Wong (pen name of gambling author, John Ferguson) from approximately 1992 to 1996. The manuals and software in this collection are intended primarily for expert blackjack players to analyze real world effects of the game and to allow users to generate strategies for a specific game.
The Alex Shoofey Papers are comprised of records spanning 1967 to 1972 that primarily pertain to financial operations and policies for the International Hotel and Casino-Las Vegas Hilton and the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection includes daily profit and loss reports, interdepartmental correspondence, staffing and operational policies and procedures, production reports, and Shoofey's personal correspondence. Collection materials are representative of business and financial records from Shoofey's tenure as president of both the International and Flamingo hotels and casinos.
The Southern Nevada Coalition of Concerned Women, Inc. Records (1996-2018) contains photographs, charity event programs, operational records, correspondence, and newspaper clippings. The majority of the collection consists of photographs and other materials documenting SNCCW's annual fundraising luncheons. Also included are the SNCCW's Articles of Incorporation, a brochure, awards, and certificates.
The John B. DuBois Papers (1967-2012) contain legislative bills, reviews, and requests from his time as a Nevada State Assemblyman from Clark County. Also included are newspaper clippings, campaign material, contribution letters, and election results. There are Datagraphic Research, Inc. Opinion Polls conducted and written by his wife Judith DuBois, photographs, speeches, and a manuscript for a stage play adopted from a novel written by John DuBois.
The collection documents Gilbert Shwartz's early involvement with the Clark County Sheriff's Mounted Posse and the Elks Club in the early 1960s as well as the growth of his real estate company, Sahara Realty, from 1963 to 2008. The collection includes photographs and programs of the Clark County Sheriff's Mounted Posse Rodeo and programs for the Elks Club Helldorado Days Rodeo from the early 1960s. The collection also includes photographs of Schwartz and his home, slides of Sahara Realty/Realtors advertising around Las Vegas, and autographed team photographs of the Central Little League teams sponsored by Sahara Realty. Also included is a program for the National Association of Real Estate Brokers annual conference held in Las Vegas in 1974.
