Dayvid Figler was born August 18, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. He was four years old when the family station wagon reached Las Vegas, Nevada in 1971. Figler’s father soon became a Pan dealer on the Strip. As the family grew, his mother, Barbara, immersed her energies in her children’s activities, Hadassah and Temple Beth Sholom. Figler graduated from Valley High School at the age of 16 and by the age of 23 he was rising in the legal world. He was also a local essayist and poet.
Darrin Bush was born January 08, 1948 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After attaining his education at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Bishop Gorman High School, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Michael DeJong was born March 22, 1969 and grew up in Michigan. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1990 at the age of 21. DeJong graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and entered the casino industry as a pit clerk at The Mirage Hotel. He also worked as a floor representative for Club Mirage, the casino’s players club, before going into the Management Association Program which allowed him to learn about and transition into supervisory roles.
Justin Beltram was born in 1978 and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduating from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Beltram entered the gaming industry in 2000 by becoming a slot analyst at The Mirage Hotel. He became both manager and director of slot operations and marketing at The Mirage before becoming executive director of slot operations and marketing at Treasure Island. In 2008, Beltram moved on to become vice president of slot operations and marketing at Bellagio.
Ian Anderson was born October 03, 1971 and was raised in the central corridor of Phoenix, Arizona where he was in the minority as a white person. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1997 to follow a job in the Knoll Dealership. He met his wife, Shanna, and married in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2009. They moved to Las Vegas together and worked together in the office furniture industry. Anderson bought and renovated a house in the McNeil Neighborhood with his wife.
Shanna Anderson was born April 29, 1982 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She moved out of her family’s house at age 16 and went to college in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada multiple times in her life, the last time being in 2008. Anderson met her husband, Ian, through business within the same industry. They got married in Scottsdale, Arizona and both worked in the office furniture industry together. Anderson bought and renovated a house in the McNeil Neighborhood with her husband.
Katie Ford was born April 13, 1929 in Ely, Nevada. Her family lived in multiple cities in the state before moving to Beatty, Nevada when Ford was two years old. She worked at her family’s gas station and hotel while she was a teenager. When Ford moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1945, she continued her career as a waitress.
Pauline Barlow’s family moved to southern Nevada when she was 15 years old because her dad was promised employment in construction. She attended high school in Colorado, and moved back to Las Vegas, Nevada when she was 16.
Janet Garry was born November 24, 1927 in Louisiana. She moved to Nevada in December of 1951. She worked at a file clerk. Garry passed away February 06, 2007.
