Schur, A. J., 1883-1957

Abraham "A.J." Schur was the first president (1943-1945) of Temple Beth Sholom in Las Vegas, Nevada. A lawyer, Schur moved his family to Las Vegas around 1930 and helped to establish the city's Jewish community. His sister was Las Vegas businesswoman Kitty Wiener.

Scroggins, Lee, 1948-

Lee Scroggins was born on April 10, 1948. She and her family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in March 1980. She worked as an administrative aide, management assistant, and executive assistant in several departments at UNLV starting in 1980. She did not work on campus from 1985 to 1988, then she returned to UNLV to work in the psychology department and eventually in the library until she retired in 2009.

Denny, Henrietta, 1897-1972

Henrietta Mayes Denny was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary World War One, the local Red Cross chapter, and the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born to John Henry and Katherine Mayes in Kentucky on January 15, 1897. She married Virgil Denny in 1942. Henrietta Denny died in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 29, 1972.
