The Biographical series (1970-2007) is comprised of materials that focus on Florence McClure's personal life and provide a broad portrait of her life and work. It includes biographical information in the form of newspaper and magazine articles, interviews, resumes, family documents, and genealogical research. Other important personal documents include awards and honors and general correspondence.
The Political Advocacy series (1969-1998) provides documentation of Florence McClure’s work as a political advocate for women’s issues in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as at the state and national level. Included is her testimony before the U.S. Senate and summaries of her activities in the Nevada State Legislature regarding women’s issues.
The Womens Correctional Facility papers (1970-2001) contains material documenting Florence McClure’s work on behalf of the women’s correctional facility that was constructed in North Las Vegas. It includes materials about the Southern Nevada Womens Correctional Facility (SNWCF) including correspondence, bids and proposals, and other site selection documents relating to the construction of the facility. The series also contains more general information on corrections and the rights of victims. Included are newspaper clippings, correspondence, reports and studies and drafts of Nevada legislation on corrections issues.
