Oral history interview with Mark Matthews conducted by Marcus Harrison on March 30, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Matthews discusses his arrival to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1949 in an attempt to find better living conditions. Matthews then describes living through the Great Depression, and explains the hardships it brought upon many people. Matthews later discusses improvements in transportation throughout the city as more streets were paved.

Oral history interview with Joseph C. Mattingly conducted by Sean Powers on February 23, 1979 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In the interview, Mattingly discusses moving back and forth between Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada during the 1930s and 1940s before finally settling in Las Vegas in 1954. Mattingly also discusses his life as a sheet metal worker for commercial buildings, Las Vegas Strip hotels, and buildings on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus.

Oral history interview with Suzy Maufus conducted by Bernard Timberg on January 27, 1974 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Maufus discusses the changes Las Vegas, Nevada went through, from a small town to a big sprawling city. The interview concludes with Maufus discussing the rise of crime as Las Vegas grew.

In the interview, McColl discusses his early life moving back and forth between California, Nevada, and Texas before settling in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1925. McColl also discusses his work as a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad Company, life in Las Vegas during the late 1920s and 1930s, and industrial and urban growth in Las Vegas.
