Candice Nichols, executive director for The Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, was honored for her community service.
Nichols has been a community activist and professional in the nonprofit sector in Nevada for more than 20 years. Her activism began in 1989 when she became the chairwoman of Pro-Choice Advocacy, a coalition that codified Roe v. Wade in Nevada through a ballot initiative in 1990.
Sam Tucker was a Las Vegas, Nevada casino executive and former bootlegger. He was an associate of Moe Dalitz in the Prohibition-era liquor trade in Cleveland before moving to Las Vegas in the late 1940s to invest in the Desert Inn with Dalitz and others. Tucker served as chair of the United Jewish Appeal in Las Vegas from 1953 to 1956.
David M. Stone is the founder and president of Nevada Association Services Inc. (NAS), a large real estate collection company in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stone moved to Las Vegas and founded NAS in 1999. He also serves as chairman of the board of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas (2015- ).
