Moss, Corinne Wollman

Corinne "Corky" Moss (née Wollman; April 22, 1924 – 2001) was a philanthropist involved in establishing and supporting multiple educational and community efforts in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was the daughter of Murray Wollman, a Las Vegas landowner and developer, and his wife Agnes. The family moved to Las Vegas in 1936, where Moss graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1941. She graduated from Stanford University in 1945 and married Melvin S. Moss in 1946, with whom she had two daughters.

Augustine, Kathy Marie

Kathy Augustine worked in the Nevada legislature from 1993 to 2006. Augustine was born May 29, 1956 in Los Angeles, California. In California Augustine received her Bachelor's Degree from Occidental College and her Master's Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach. Augustine came to Las Vegas in 1988 while working as a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines. In 1993 she won the assembly seat for District 12 running as a Republican. Augustine was part of the Nevada State Senate from 1994 to 1998.

Franchini, Anthony J., 1898-1997

Musician, arranger, conductor, and composer Anthony J. Franchini was born on August 2, 1898 in Naples, Italy and immigrated to the United States with his family when he was five years old. With only an 8th grade education, he worked as a music teacher in Massachusetts until he enlisted in the Army during the first World War. When he was discharged, he went to New York City, New York to pursue a career in music.

Bielski, Stanislaus J., Prince, 1908-1979

Prince Stanislaus J. Bielski was born in 1908 in Bielsk, Poland, the son of Jan-Edward and Maria Bielski. He was, by his account, a Prince of one of Poland's pre-war noble families, and had inherited great wealth from his father.

Freeman, Al, 1924-1972

Al Freeman was instrumental in building the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada into one of the most renowned resort hotels of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He served as the the promotion director for the Sands Hotel from the time it opened in 1957 until his death in 1972.

Gill, Benjamin

Benjamin Gill arrived in Goldfield from Seattle, Washington around 1905. An accountant, Gill worked for a number of mining and brokerage companies. From 1906, he was secretary and local agent for the Begole Mining Syndicate, owned by mining financier, F. H. Begole, of Marquette, Michigan. He also acted as secretary for the Nevada Registration and Trust Company of Goldfield.

Dr. Percy Poon was born January 10, 1958 in Hong Kong, China, the oldest of four children. He attended Catholic school through junior high and high school, but decided to work after high school instead of going on to college. After working in banking and police forensics for a couple of years, he decided to continue his education.

Richardson, Vicki

Vicki Richardson was born in 1945 in Wilmington, Delaware. As a junior in high school, she was one of 12 African American students chosen to integrate the school system. She was a Civil Rights activist in high school and, throughout college, writing letters to local newspapers and engaging in protests to desegregate public spaces. At Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, Richardson studied philosophy and theology.
