From the North Las Vegas Library Photograph Collection on North Las Vegas, Nevada (PH-00277) -- Wayne Newton, famous Las Vegas entertainer, was honored for the benefit performance that he gave at the River Rats meeting, Convention Center, Las Vegas, fall of 1973. At right is Maj. Richard Skeels, Nellis Air Force Base. The River Rats are airmen who have flown at least one mission over the Hanoi-Haiphong Area during the Vietnam War.
