Oral history interview with Withania Neal conducted by Claytee D. White on July 09, 2006 for the Hurricane Katrina Survivors in Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Neal discusses her upbringing in Las Vegas, Nevada. She remembers attending a sixth grade center, and going to Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Neal talks about her experience with hurricane season in Louisiana, evacuating, and the development of hurricane Katrina. She describes the broken levees, the flooding of New Orleans, and the chaos that followed. Lastly, Neal recalls the weeks after the hurricane, damaged homes, and the process of rebuilding the community.

Oral history interview with Matt Gregory conducted by Joyce Marshall on May 07, 1996 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Gregory discusses his early life and arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1953. He remembers working in public relations for the Showboat Hotel and Casino and becoming a personal manager, agent and producer. Gregory talks about representing lounge acts, recruiting young artists, and producing large shows in smaller venues. Lastly, Gregory discusses producing a fashion show for the Lion's Club Convention held in Las Vegas and producing the network television game show, Las Vegas Gambit.

Oral history interview with Carmen Benedict conducted by Tammy M. Wallace on April 20, 2006 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Benedict discusses her upbringing and inspiration to be a teacher in California in the 1990s and 2000s. She reflects upon the process by which she went from being a student instructor to a teacher, and from a teacher to a principal. She discusses the philosophy that guided her throughout her career and influenced her interactions with students and educators, and challenges that she faced as an administrator. She also discusses her regular duties as principal, expectations that principals face, and her suggestions on how to be a successful principal.

Oral history interview with Kathy Foster conducted by Cheryle Trupp on October 05, 2004 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Foster reflects upon her 30-year career as a teacher and administrator with Montana’s Bozeman Public Schools (BPS) and Nevada’s Clark County School District (CCSD). She discusses the different positions that she has held, and describes the process by which she moved from BPS to CCSD. She reflects upon some of her biggest accomplishments and challenges, offers her opinion on student ethics, violence, and curriculum changes, and describes what she believes makes an effective administrator.

Oral history interview with Aldeane Ries conducted by Jennifer Meskimen on April 21, 2002 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Ries reflects upon her nearly 40-year career as a teacher and administrator with Nevada’s Clark County School District. She discusses the process by which she became an administrator, her approach to school administration, and her regular job responsibilities as principal. She describes changes within the school district over her 40-year career, cultural diversity among students and staff, and the importance of maintaining relationships with parents and students. She also offers suggestions for individuals interested in pursuing school administration.

Oral history interview with Pamela Salazar conducted by Mark Cheney on November 13, 2002 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Salazar reflects upon her nearly 30-year career as a teacher and administrator with Nevada’s Clark County School District from the 1970s to the 2000s. She describes her approach to school administration, regular job responsibilities and challenges as principal, and ways that she managed job stressors. Oral history interview with Elena Newman conducted by Cecilia Winchell and Stefani Evans on April 11, 2022 for the Reflections: the Las Vegas Asian American and Pacific Islander Oral History Project. In this interview, Newman discusses her childhood in Dagupan, Pangasinan, Philippines. At the age of eighteen, she moved to Singapore for better work opportunities to help support her family. After meeting her husband, the couple moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Since moving to Las Vegas, Newman has spent her time working as both a guest room attendant and shop steward at Mandalay Bay. She is also a part of the Culinary Workers Union, and she discusses how helpful the union is to the livelihoods of the many workers in the casino industry.
