Construction on the Fountainbleau (tall blue building) ceased in 2009, while Boyd Gaming's Echelon Project stopped construction on former Stardust site back in 2008. That project was revived as the Resorts World Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority has scheduled the demolition of the Riviera Hotel and Casino for in summer 2016 to make way for a convention center expansion.
