Abstract

The North Las Vegas Bicentennial Committee Photographs and Drawings of Kiel Ranch document the buildings on Kiel (Kyle) Ranch in 1974. As part of the commemoration of the United States bicentennial, the North Las Vegas City Council elected to restore Kiel Ranch, which was one of the first non-indigenous settlements in the Las Vegas Valley. The materials include black-and-white photographs of Kiel Ranch as it was in 1974 as well as architectural drawings of planned renovations to the main house, the Brown House, the foreman's house, and the ranch hands' house.

Abstract

Roundtable oral history interview conducted by Lisa Gioia-Acres with some of the founding members of the Musicians Wives Club of Las Vegas on October 1, 2008 for the All That Jazz Oral History Project. Interviewees include Renee Rampton, Rosemaria Gordon, Myrna Williams, Phyllis Kluger, and Leslie Marsh. Also included are two photographs (reproductions) taken on June 4, 1964 at the installation ceremony of the first officers. Digital audio available; no transcript available; two physical photographs available.

Documenting the African American Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada Web Archive is comprised of archived websites captured primarily in 2017 that are related to UNLV University Libraries community documentation project, "Documenting the African American Experience in Las Vegas." Archived websites represent religious institutions, civic and service organizations, and local businesses in the Las Vegas Valley. The collection includes archived websites of organizations like the local NAACP branch, the Urban Chamber of Commerce, Westside School Alumni Foundation, 100 Black Men of Las Vegas, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, the First African Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Psi Upsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
