Description

Large body of water, possibly a pond, sits between desert shrubs. In the distance, crop land stretches out and mountains are barely visible. Unclear if photo is taken on Lazy 88 Ranch property in Pahrump or looking towards Pahrump; inscription reads: "Looking south towards Shoshone, California. Trees seen in distance are on Pahrump Ranch, nine miles away. July 28, 1951"

Description

Aftermath of the Goldfield Fire of July 6, 1923. The fire destroyed approximately 25 blocks of Goldfield's Main Street after starting early that morning, and two lives were lost. Remnants of buildings and exposed brick lots are visible, while some buildings stand in the background. Arrow-shaped sign near the debris reads "Garage." Included with the photograph is the description "Times-Bonanza, Tonopah."
