The Virginia "Teddy" Fenton Photograph Collection on the Hoover Dam and Boulder City, Nevada (1920-1985) contains photographs of the Hoover Dam, Colorado River, and Boulder City, Nevada. The photographs depict the construction of the Hoover Dam from 1931 to 1936, views of the dam after it was finished, and workers building the dam.
A black and white image of a woman and three children standing next to a makeshift home in an area known as Ragtown near the Hoover Dam construction site at Black Canyon, not far from Boulder City.
From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series III. Beatty, Nevada -- Subseries III.B. Lisle Family. By this time Panamint City was pretty much a ghost town, but Ralph Lisle and his partners lived here while working a nearby tungsten mine. Because there was no road from Panamint City to the Mine, all transporting was done by burros, shown here loaded with cargo.
