The Nevada Council on Compulsive Gambling Records (1978-1995) contains organizational records, correspondence, programs, services, and outreach publications.
The gambling series of the MGM Mirage Corporation Records dates from 1992 to 2003. This series includes correspondence, files on the impact of gaming, and regulation. The majority of this series contains files from the American Gaming Association about gambling addiction and responsible gaming.
The Rena Nora Papers on Gambling Addiction (1978-2009) consist of the personal correspondence, research notes, and publications of psychiatrist Rena Nora. In addition to positions in New Jersey and New York, Dr. Nora was the Chief of Psychiatric Services at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she focused on issues of compulsive gambling. The papers also house several compact disks which contain presentations that Dr. Nora gave at various conferences on problem gambling in the United States.
Oral history interview with Evelyn and J.C. Gamble conducted by Claytee D. White on August 31, 2010 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Evelyn discusses living on the Westside in the 1950s and describes the development of that area. J.C. recalls his years in the United States Air Force and experiences stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. Lastly, J.C. describes why the Westside was off limits for active Air Force members, and the two speak about their employment at the Nevada Test Site.
The Las Vegas Gambling Surveillance Collection (approximately 1990-2007) contains materials presumably from the office of Daniel Schreffler who worked as a surveillance officer for Boyd Gaming Corporation, including the Stardust Casino, during the early to mid-2000s. Materials include print outs and digital versions of CCTV images, Stardust Casino surveillance reports, and alert reports related to gambling and gaming cheaters in Las Vegas, Nevada from gaming investigative services such as Griffin Investigations, SIN Report, and Biometrica Systems. Materials also include Daniel Schreffler's email correspondence and employee related paperwork and documentation from the Stardust Casino.
