From the Erle A. Taylor Photograph Collection (PH-00237) -- Susan Oliver of Hollywood, California arrives at the Hughes Executive Terminal at McCarran in Las Vegas, Nevada to begin her duties as official hostess of the second annual International Exposition of Flight. She is greeted by G. Barney Rawlings, the vice president of sales for the Riviera, Hotel Keith Hanna, the administrative director for the Frontier Hotel, and John Seymour, the general manager of Hughes Airport operations.
The promotional materials series (1942-1984) consists of ephemera such as dice and playing cards, menus, magazines, an audit report, and programs and press materials, as well as correspondence, invoices, legal documents, and clippings about the Perfect 11 Contest.

Oral history interview with José Luis Gutiérrez conducted by Maribel Estrada Calderón and Barbara Tabach on October 1, 2018 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. Also present during this interview is José’s close friend Sergio Salgado, who was interviewed separately for the Latinx Voices project in 2018.
José discusses his early life growing up in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and his migration to Tijuana and then Santa Barbara, California as a teenager. He talks about his restaurant employment history both in California and in Las Vegas, including his time working at the Jolly Parrot, the Dunes Hotel and Casino, and his own eatery: Tortilleria Los Arcos.
