Oral history interview with Gregory Crawford conducted by Claytee D. White on August 18, 2021 for African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. Gregory shares his background growing up in Los Angeles, California and the influence that music had on his young life. He talks about his employment history working nearly three decades for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas' University Libraries and his role in acquiring academic materials. Oral history interview with Wendy Starkweather conducted by Claytee D. White on April 9, 2021 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Wendy Starkweather (born 1949) served as the public face of Lied Library 20 years ago when the building was first constructed. She discusses her time at Lied Library with specific references to her most memorable moments and her favorite aspects of the library's architecture. Wendy also talks about her retirement from UNLV in 2010 and how she has kept busy in recent years by traveling, reading, and participating in the political arena. Oral history interview with Cecelia Zamora and Celia Rivero Mummey conducted by Claytee D. White on January 15, 2022 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Celia Rivero Mummey is the mother of Cecelia Zamora, and both participate in this interview. Both were born in Las Vegas, Nevada and Mummey recalls the Helldorado Parades as her favorite part of the city. Mummey's mother and father - Margarita and Francisco - owned the first Mexican restaurant in the city. Frank's Cafe was located at Fremont and First Streets. The interview covers memories of other downtown business locations, cruising on Fremont Street, outings to Lake Mead, living in Vegas Heights, Culinary Union membership, working in various hotels, and Las Vegas entertainment.
