The UNLV University Libraries Collection on Las Vegas Show Costume Design is comprised of work from several desginers who created costumes for various Las Vegas, Nevada shows. The designs are undated but appear to date from the 1940s to 1970s. The collection includes works from the following designers: Jean Devlyn, Anne Guertin, Larry Merritt, Ladd, Josephine Spinedi, Corrado Colabucci, and also includes unsigned designs from unknown artists. The collection also designs for Matt Gregory Productions. Most of the designs do not include show information.
The United States Department of Energy Photograph Collection on the Nevada Test Site contains photographs prints and negatives of nuclear testing, detonations, buildings, and wildlife on the Nevada Test Site (NTS) from 1945 to 1982. The photographs primarily depict nuclear explosions at the NTS and other test sites. The photographs also include preparations for nuclear tests, facilities at the NTS, and wildlife that live on the NTS.
The Jack Leavitt Collection on Las Vegas Lands and Real Estate (1968-1981) contains real estate property indexes for Clark County, Nevada, as well as an aerial survey of the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. The thirty-one indexes include alphabetical lists of home owners, their addresses, and maps of urban and private land parcels focusing on the cities of Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada.
The Las Vegas, Nevada Strip Hotel Labor Relations Collection comprises legal documents, correspondence, and human resources manuals and pamphlets related to labor in the hospitality industry on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada from 1963 to 2008. The majority of documents involve the Culinary Union, the Bartenders Union, the Teamsters Union, MGM Mirage affiliated hotel casinos, the Dunes Hotel, and the Sands Hotel and Casino.
UNLV Libraries Collection of Digital Communication about COVID-19 in Las Vegas (2020-2021) contain digital materials documenting the COVID-19 pandemic at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and in Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection materials include archived websites, Twitter data, and official emails sent to the UNLV campus community.
The UNLV Libraries Collection of Gold Strike Resorts Inc. Promotional and Press Materials includes promotional materials, company newsletters, and newspaper clippings for Gold Strike Resorts Inc. located in Jean, Nevada dating from 1986 to 2005.
The Las Vegas High School Class of 1929 Photograph Collection (1929 and 1979) consists of black-and-white photographic prints and negatives. The images include members of the class of 1929 from Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, primarily from the Spanish club, library club, the science club, and a boys basketball team. An additional image depicts
a class reunion on May 4, 1979 at the Showboat Hotel and Casino.
The Dow Metals, Incorporated Photograph Collection on Basic Magnesium, Incorporated (approximately 1940 to 1990) contains black-and-white photographic prints, reproduction prints, and negatives depicting scenes at the Basic Magnesium, Inc. (BMI) plant in Henderson, Nevada. Images also include Basic townsite homes, buildings, and residents; BMI employees; and interior and aerial views of the plant. Also included are images from Pittman, Nevada of row houses, tent houses, a recreation center, and dining and entertainment establishments.
The Fraley Family Collection of Las Vegas, Nevada Films and Photographs (1956-1995) include 8mm photographic films of the Helldorado Parade and Hoover (Boulder) Dam in 1956, color photographic prints of the construction of the Fremont Street Experience in 1995, and one color photographic print of the Tower Casino at the State Line in 1976. The 8mm film footage was taken during a family vacation and also includes exterior shots of casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.
