The UNLV Libraries Collection of Political Ephemera (1913-1974) contains political material collected by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas University Libraries, Special Collections and Archives.
The Schuyler Family Photograph Collection (1889-2024) contains documents, census record forms, photographic prints and negatives, and ephemera which document the history of the Schuyler, Cahlan, and related families. The collection contains photographic prints of Donald Schuyler Sr. and his wife, Freda Schuyler, at various events and places around Las Vegas, Nevada. Some of the images also include members of the Cahlan and Ullom families, noteably A. E. Cahlan and his wife, Ruth, who were prolific Las Vegan authors. Some items in this collection are digital surrogates. This collection was previously called the Donald Schuyler Jr. Photograph Collection.
The UNLV University Libraries Collection of Posters is comprised of posters featuring Southern Nevada with a focus on Las Vegas, Nevada, collected by the University Libraries Special Collections and Archives. The material dates between 1891 and 2002, with the bulk of the material dating between 1940 and 2002. The collection includes posters of movies filmed in Las Vegas, casino marketing and advertisement posters, newspaper clippings, political rallies and campaign advertisement posters, and event promotions.
The T. Carson Swizzle Stick Collection dates from the 1960s to the 1980s and consists of swizzle sticks from various venues collected by T. Carson. The collection includes eleven plastic swizzle sticks without names or logos and five clear glass swizzle sticks. The collection contains several with business names or logos: Huckelbury's (3); Hotel Mellen, Fall River, Massachusetts; orange Western Airlines; Heinz 57; Union Pacific, City of Las Vegas; and Silver Palace, Downtown Las Vegas.
The Gay Fiction Book Collection (1951-1976) is a small collection of fiction books published from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s that have gay men as the lead characters or storylines that relate to the gay community. The majority of the books were published in San Francisco, California and were collected and donated by Dennis McBride.
The Felix Lenox Photograph Collection (approximately 1910-2000) contains original photographic slides, prints, and contact sheets collected by Lenox in support of his popular "Nevada Armored Transport Inc. (1946-1984)" Facebook page. The collection also includes Lenox's own research on Las Vegas history and armored trucks.
The Bohn-Bettoni Menu Collection contains menus dating from 1854 to 1939 from restaurants around the world that were collected by Henry J. Bohn, including a large number of international menus gathered into a single scrapbook by Henri Bettoni, manager of the Globe Restaurant in London, England. The collection contains menus from hotel restaurants located primarily on the eastern coast of the United States, but also contains menus from Western states such as Montana, Colorado, Washington, and California. Stretching well in the first three decades of the 20th century, the menus in the Bohn-Bettoni collection showcase the evolving nature of American and European cuisine.
The Dennis McBride Erotica Collection (approximately 1950s-2003) consists of heterosexual and homosexual erotic photograph, drawings, and magazines. The collection also contains reproductions of early pornographic materials from the 1930s and 1940s and a stereoscope viewer with image inserts depicting nude females. This collection provides insight into erotica and pornography dating from the mid- to late- twentieth century.
The Helen M. Shepp Photograph Collection contains photographs of community organizations, entertainers, and significant figures in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1950 to 1964. The collection includes photographs of the American Association of the United Nations, the Navy Mother's Club, and the Women's Democratic Club. The collection also includes photographs of Nevada politicians and entertainers.
The Byrd Wall Sawyer Collection primarily consists of Byrd's research files on Nevada from 1930 to 1970. The materials concentrate on her monograph, "Nevada Nomads," as well as her co-authored textbook, "Here is Nevada." The collection also includes speeches, journal articles, memos, research note cards and papers, correspondence, informational booklets and pamphlets, maps, photographs, audiovisual materials, and newspaper articles and clippings.
